In short: At NORTHGRIND® there are two grinder sizes: 55 mm (compact, fits in any jacket pocket) and 62 mm (more capacity, more grinding surface). If you grind a lot at once or use a toothless grinder, go for 62 mm. If you carry it with you every day, 55 mm serves you better.
Why grinder size matters
The diameter determines how much material fits in the grinding chamber, how evenly it is ground and how comfortably the grinder sits in your hand. A larger grinder has more grinding surface, a smaller one is lighter and more discreet.
55 mm: the compact companion
- Handy and light, ideal for trouser and jacket pockets
- Good for smaller amounts and daily use
- At NORTHGRIND®: Ceramic Grinder Juist (4-piece) and Bio Hemp Grinder Borkum (2-piece)
62 mm: more space, more grinding surface
- Larger chamber, the material distributes better
- Comfortable in the hand for larger amounts and longer sessions
- At NORTHGRIND®: Toothless Grinder Langeoog, Ceramic Ultra Grinder Baltrum and Toothless Ceramic Grinder Norderney
