1. General information
The protection of your personal data is a special concern to us. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.

3. Data collection on our website
Server log files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files (browser type, operating system, referrer URL, IP address, time). This data cannot be assigned to specific persons.
Cookies & Real Cookie Banner
We use "Real Cookie Banner" to manage consents. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR.
Age confirmation (18+)
On your first visit we ask you to confirm that you are at least 18 years old. No identity check takes place. Your confirmation is stored only in your browser (cookie or local storage “ng_age18”) so that the prompt does not appear again on every page view. This information is not transmitted to us or to third parties. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (protection of minors, legitimate interest) and Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG (strictly necessary).
Language versions (German/English)
Our website is available in German and English. We use the TranslatePress plugin for the language versions. Your language selection and your browser language are evaluated and stored locally in your browser only (local storage “ng_lang”) in order to show you the language you want. This information is not transmitted to third parties. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG.
Other strictly necessary storage
We use strictly necessary cookies and local storage entries, for example for the shopping cart (WooCommerce), for your consent decision (Real Cookie Banner) and for the newsletter notice window (see section 6: “ng_nlpop_ts” and “ng_nlpop_done”, so that the window does not appear again). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG.
4. Plugins & tools
NORTHGRIND® Shop-Fix
This is an in-house development by Benjamin Borchardt for improved shop display and the display of product availability. When this tool is used, no personal data or IP log files of users are stored.
WooCommerce & Germanized
For order processing we use WooCommerce and Germanized for WordPress. In doing so we process order data, address data and communication data (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).
NitroPack (performance)
To optimise the loading times of our website we use the NitroPack service for caching static content in order to speed up delivery (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
Packlink PRO Shipping
Shipping data is transmitted to Packlink and the respective shipping provider (e.g. DHL, DPD) to create shipping labels (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).
Payment providers
We use Mollie and PayPal for payment processing. Your payment data is transmitted to the respective service provider for the purpose of processing.
Site Kit by Google & SureRank SEO
We use these tools for analysis and technical optimisation. Insofar as data (such as IP addresses) is transmitted to Google, this is done anonymised or on the basis of your consent.
Solid Security Basic
Serves the security of the website (protection against brute-force attacks). IP addresses may be stored temporarily to ward off attacks (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
Elementor
We use the page builder Elementor. It sets technical cookies that are necessary for the correct display of the page.
TranslatePress
See “Language versions” above. The plugin stores translations on our server; no personal data is transmitted to external translation services.
WooCommerce order attribution
To evaluate how visitors find our shop (e.g. search engine, link, direct visit), WooCommerce can store origin data (source, medium, page visited) in cookies with the prefix “sbjs_” and assign it to the order. The evaluation takes place in the shop backend. Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG.
5. Contact form (WPForms)
If you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details including the contact data will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry. We do not pass on this data without your consent.
6. Newsletter and welcome offer (Brevo)
Newsletter signup. When you sign up for our newsletter (on the home page or via the “Before you go” notice window), we process your email address and – as proof of signup – the time of signup and confirmation and the IP address used. Signup uses the double opt-in procedure: you receive an email with a confirmation link, and we add you to our mailing list only after you confirm. Purpose: sending news and offers from NORTHGRIND® and the welcome offer. Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Welcome offer. When you sign up you receive a voucher code for 10% off and – if you enter the word “Newsletter” in the “Notes” field of your order – a free plastic grinder with your order. The entry in the order field is processed as part of order handling (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
“Before you go” notice window. Whether and when the window appears (e.g. when the mouse pointer leaves the browser window at the top, or on smartphones after a certain time on the page or when scrolling up) is evaluated locally in your browser only. This information is not transmitted to us. So that the window does not appear again, we store a timestamp or your signup in your browser (local storage “ng_nlpop_ts”, “ng_nlpop_done”).
Email service provider Brevo. To send and manage the newsletter we use the service Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, Paris, France). The data you enter in the signup form is transmitted to Brevo for this purpose. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Brevo.
Storage period and withdrawal. We store your data until you withdraw your consent. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, e.g. via the unsubscribe link in every email or by email to support@northgrind.de. The lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal remains unaffected. After withdrawal we keep data proving your consent until the limitation periods expire (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
7. Your rights
You have the right at any time to receive free information about your stored personal data as well as the right to correction, blocking or deletion of this data. You can contact us at any time at the address given in the legal notice. You also have the right to restriction of processing, to data portability and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, e.g. the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony.
